Wedding Jackets & Outfits

A suit comprising a jacket and skirt is often worn by the mother of the bride .

If the weather is likely to be cool or cold, then wearing a jacket can help keep you warm as well as completing your wedding outfit. 

It's also a great way to create a formal look from even the prettiest of summer dresses.

For wedding guests unsure of the temperature, wearing a pretty dress, yet having either a wrap, bolero or jacket to hand, can help you be ready for whatever the weather throws at you!  Boleros are particularly appropriate for summer wear.

For the mother of the bride or groom planning her outfit for a fall , winter or spring wedding,  don't forget to buy yourself a matching jacket ready for cooler weather, even if you're going shopping in the middle of summer.

Of course, once you get indoors, it's going to be far warmer, so do allow for taking off those layers.

Winter Wedding Ideas

A winter wedding is not the time for those sleeveless or strapless dresses.  For all those present at the wedding, bride, bridesmaids and guests, longer sleeves and warmer fabrics such as silk or satin can help keep you warm, yet stylish for those winter months.

Remember that in winter you'll probably want to choose darker, stronger colors, not pastels, for your dresses and theme.  By choosing evening gowns or tea length dresses that are simple and elegant, this is one occasion where you may be able to wear your outfit at other formal occasions.

Appropriate footwear is likely to be pumps or court shoes, rather than sandals, in a heel height that you find comfortable.  Brides have the option of some stunning white or cream bridal lace up boots.

Adding a wrap can help complete the look as well as being essential for those outdoor photographs.
