Whether you are the bride, groom or even mother of the bride or groom, it’s a guarantee that you want the wedding to be fun for everyone. However, if you’re anything like me then you are probably growing a little tired of all the normal wedding traditions like the throwing of the bridal bouquet, the removal of the garter, the cutting of the cake, doing ‘the train’ around the dance floor, etc. Yes it’s still a great idea to have some or even all of these mini-events present at the wedding, but why not go the extra mile and do some things that are truly unique?
One creative idea that promotes fun is to give disposable cameras as wedding favors. This will allow your guests to be a bit more interactive with their surroundings, and will also provide you with tons of awesome snapshots that will truly memorialize the big day from multiple perspectives.
Another unique idea that is sure to promote fun and good times is to hire a walkabout caricaturist, magician, or even fortune teller. This hired person will mix and mingle with your guests, provide some nice conversational icebreakers, and keep the kiddies interested too!
The third creative idea is to get a photo booth at the reception. This will provide a nice avenue for your guests to really let their hair down, and it also will provide your guests with nice mementos of the occasion. You could even take this concept a step further by providing some costumes, backdrops, props, etc.
The fourth idea is to incorporate some classic games into the mix. For example, give out UNO cards for favors, add some casino games to the venue, have the DJ coordinate a game of Twister for prizes, etc. Again, like all the items on this list, the “big idea” here is to be unique and spur interaction amongst your guests, both of which will certainly be accomplished if you decide to pursue this idea.
Last but certainly not least, think about adding some kind of grand finale to the reception. For example, a professional fireworks show, a fire juggler, a surprise semi-famous live band, or a poi artist will really make your wedding stand out from the rest.
I hope you found these 5 ideas to spruce up your wedding entertainment plans both useful and informative. Do you have any other ideas or suggestions for unique wedding entertainment concepts? If so, please do leave a comment below and let the world know!
