Anyone who has been through it will tell you, a wedding is a massive undertaking. There are so many things that must be done to prepare, and it can be rather hectic for quite a while. For this reason, a wedding planner can be your very best friend.
A real-life example
In the case of my wife and I, we had done some of the prep ourselves such as booking the photo and video crew and ordering the wedding clothes, including the bridal gown, bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses, the groom’s tuxedo and groomsmen suits. We also chose the venue and picked out the menu for the reception. Basically, all the bigger to-do items.
Those things aren’t so difficult to do, but they are just a fraction of the overall wedding prep work. That’s when we turned to our wonderful wedding planner to handle the rest. The coordinator handles the complete decorations for the wedding location and the reception hall, and that is such a relief. Our wedding and reception both looked phenomenal, and there’s no way we could have pulled that off on our own.
Another great thing about a planner is that she handles the people too. They plan out the order of the procession in the ceremony and the order of how the wedding party enters the reception. The planner handles all the little things that would drive you and your spouse-to-be crazy.
Planning from the start
Although we did some things ourselves before we got a planner involved, it’s actually better to get your planner involved from the beginning. Chances are they have quite a bit of wedding experience, and they might have some insights about finding an affordable photo/video team or a place to get all your tuxedos and gowns done at a better price than you could find on your own.
Your wedding should be one of the best days of your life. Make no mistake, it will also be one of the most tiring, but when it’s all said and done, having a planner on board will save you tons of stress and allow you to fully enjoy your special day.
